I did that on one project I built!  8)

Marty - if you can file the edges dead straight, superglue will keep it in place very well.

Thanks Stephen, but the two "ground" link wires are quite sturdy, it doesn't move at all !!
I removed the copper from the touching trace, so there's no shorts ever
going to happen ....... he say's confidently !!

Very nice! I've done something like this, but usually stick the daughter card on top or on the side (2ndary board)

Yeah, on the side ( side ways up ) would be neat !!

I did the same thing, but it lead to a very hard to find bug.

During box mounting, I had appearently flexed the boards so the copper trace had had lifted from the board where the connection to the other board was soldered. In addition the copper trace was broken, almost invisibly so I spend an evening debugging.

Hmm, I've noticed that my "vero-board" doesn't respond well to having
components "removed" more than once ..... the heat makes the copper
lift up and become "un-glued" from the board .....

I have observed the same thing, but mostly on perf where the copper rings lifts off the board. That was how I ruined my first Tube Reamer when trying to replace the diodes. Since then I started to socket my diodes. It's strange how you learn most from your mistakes

Do they make plated thru hole vero board? Plated thru hole stuff holds up really well to repeated soldering/desoldering, but the downside to using it is that it makes it more difficult to remove components.
