I want to build a pedal that has a fuzz face, octavia, and a univibe in one, like  a Foxrox Captain Coconut. I want to run all three effects off a single 9VDC output, but I'm looking at the schematic from General Guitar Gadgets and notice that the UniVibe runs on 14vac to 20vac OR 18vdc to 24vdc.

How can I increase the 9vdc so I can run this Univide a three in one box. Also, can someone explain how this Univibe can run off or AC or DC voltage?

It would probably be best to use a higher voltage supply (in the range required by the Uni/Neovibe) so the Neovibe can be run directly off of this, and the voltage can be lowered to 9V to power the other two effects.  If you're using an AC supply, make sure you rectify it, and then lower it to 9VDC.   Also, make sure your circuits aren't drawing more current than your adaptor can supply.

The Neovibe circuit contains a diode bridge, which will convert an AC input into DC, and can also accept DC.

Read the "Jimi in a Box" article on www.geofex.com.  He talks about running other effects from the Neovibe power supply.

Here's another vote for "make an 18v supply and use a 9V regulator running off it for the other two" because, the univibe (I believe) is a bit of a current hog, which might make it difficult for the doubler.
plus, it's easier to make a reliable & noise-free 18v to 9v conversion, than to step up.
