Hey, I made this fuzz, but I get only the asme sound as without fuzz just little quiet. what could be wrong? Does anyone have a sound of One knoob Fat fuzz? ( http://aronnelson.com/gallery/album17/One_Knob_Fat_Fuzz )

petemoore

Could be a missed Gnd or non-operational bias setup.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Grace Overdrive is not a Fuzz....:)

Grace overdrive is very cool overdrive and also you can turn into Bigg Daddy Distortion , great sound for Solos and Lead ....

The Grace is a nice OD, did you socket the 386 ?
If not, perhaps you applied a bit too much heat to it, or carefully trace
through the circuit, check part values/ground and all connections to the
chip.
It's a simple enough circuit to get going right  :)
The "One knob fat fuzz" is my twisted version of a LoFoMojO and sounds
very good, more "Fuzz/Distortion"   - well worth the few parts IMHO !!

I just bought a new microchip (LM386) for it ,but it still wont work, I get the same sound, can anyone tell me how to test whats wrong? ( It wont work without batterie eather). BTW when I turn it to full sound the noise cames and I cant hear a guitar sound and when I try to play nothing changes. Maybe this prroblem could apear if I used 2n5459 instead of 2n5457? Bus schematics say that its allright to use other same type semiconductor

Make sure you have your JFET pinout right. Datasheet here.

Everything is ok with semiconductor, what else could be wrong?

What is the voltage on IC ...

here is my values

1- 1.35
2- 0
3- 3.35
4- 0
5- 4.5
6- 9.5 ( battery Imput )
7- 0
8- 1.35
Works 100% ok!

check for those values!

my FET is J210  and my IC is JRC386

P.S Voltage values are aprox.

v00d00blues79

just my .02, but it looks like pins 3 and 7 are reversed... at least thats the way the voltages look.

Everything is the same when I change IC.

BTW when I turn volume to full I hear no sound at all just a crackle,  when I turn it down a little I Hear normal guitar sound without overdrive

Thanx guys for help  :D

It`s up and running, can u believe it? my first effect is working :D

What would you recomend for my next project?

MartyMart

Thats great ! Nice feeling isn't it ??  :D

BTW, what was the problem.... ic ?

Try a ROG "Tube reamer" that was my second effect ! its  GREAT   :D
better than an expensive TS-808
