Hi

sorry htis is a litle OT but i was wondering if anyone knew where i could get one of these cheaply OR if anyone has an extra one theyd want to sell/trade.

OR is there a way to make one with a socket nad a multimeter perhaps? the tubes in my bass head are going fast and i need to replace them asap.

THANKS

scott.

Better place to ask might be Ampage.

I made one myself using an octal socket and a base from a dead octal tube.

Just connected the socket to the base 1:1, but breaking the cathode connection and running wires out a hole in the side of the base.

Measure the current draw through that cathode connection.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record (record?? what's that?), go read GEO. There is a design for a bias probe there that I'm reasonably certain has been the design for two commercial units.

GEO has a substantial tube amp component as well as effects.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.
