Hi all,

I have built a RunOffGroove version of the EA tremolo using the layout provided and I'm having a slight problem.
Problem is there is no tremolo signal.
The circuit will work in bypass mode and i get a clean signal but when i switch to tremolo i get no signal what so ever. The LED is flashing and i can change the rate at which it flashes no problem using the rate pot.
I have also adjusted the trim pot but to no avail, still no signal.

I used MKT caps for C2, C3, C5, C6, C7 & C8. Could these be causing a problem?

I will go ever the off board wiring again to see if i have made a mess of something but if someone has any ideas please let me know as it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi

hard to tell the reason why isn't working (also by experts here) unless you can give more infos

have you seen this : http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=29816.0

with those infos you'll get your Tremolo working in less that you can think  :D  :D  :D

Cheers

Okay thanks,

I can provide more info bar the transistor voltage values, i will measure those tonight and post them later on.

1.What does it do, not do, and sound like? No sound on "effect", bypass working fine
2.Name of the circuit = EA Tremolo
3.Source of the circuit (URL of schematic or project) = runoffgroove
4.Any modifications to the circuit? N
5.Any parts substitutions? No all as per the parts list, J201 used for Q2
6.Positive ground to negative ground conversion? N
7.Brand new battery.

LED is pulsing in relation to the rate knob, however no sound is coming thru.
Voltage values for Q1, Q2 & Q3 to follow

Thanks

+1.

You're in luck, because "No sound" is better than "wrong sound" in terms of how easy it will be to fix, most of the time.  It's very likely a missed connection somewhere, transistor installed incorrectly, or some other relatively easy fix.  There's also the less likely possibility the MOSFET is busted.

Make sure your blinking LED is installed properly...it is necessary for it to function.

Hi guys, thanks for the help,
Got it working, very simple problem in the end, there was a tiny piece of solder shorting under a cap  :icon_redface: could not see it as i had to put one cap under the board, damn MKT's were too big to fit all together.

It sounds pretty good, but i might play with cap values as it is for bass, but for now it will do.

Thank ye all very much for the help, i'm sure i will be back again.

tasos

i double all capacitor values and made the same tremolo from tonepad!since i am a bass player too! :icon_razz:
