Hello Hello Hello Hello,...anybody else still using perfboard out there there there...?

Here's my version of the BSIAB2. Yeah, I know, the graphics aren't very original...

If anyone is interested, the layout is posted over at the Schematics & layouts forum along with additional board pics and build notes.

I used the schematic from General Guitar Gadgets.
Mods I like/used: Q1 & Q5 - changed from 2N5457s to J201s = more distortion, smoother sound - not as "chunky?"
C6 - changed to 130pF. The pedal was quieter after this change (less hiss) I first tried a 180 pF - didn't have any 150pF caps as specified in the schematic. I read about some people using larger values here (up to 470pF), but it didn't sound good with my setup.
I mostly use guitars that have EMG81 active pickups.

At the moment, I'm really liking the way this pedal sounds in front of my modded DS-1 with the BSIAB's drive set at 9 O'clock

Looks nice, man. I think the amazing thing, though, is the space effeciency. That's a crowded perf, but as long as it works. . . and in a 1590B, maybe I should give it a go sometime. . .

I like the small size.  I built my 2nd on Vero but it is pretty big.  I got it to fit in one of the Tiawanese B boxes but barely.

Good job on the layout. GGG's pcb fits in a 1590, but perf and vero are a lot to harder shrink down to small layouts. 8)

Thanks guys, I'm having alot of fun seeing what I can fit in a small enclosure.
After trying out some plastic, enclosed, in/out jacks in the PT-80 I just finished - where the PCB needed to sit on top of the jacks as well as the pots - I decided they are a good thing and ordered some more. Using those jacks (and miniature caps) I think some pretty big circuits will fit in a Hammond/Taiwanese "B" box.
