Making a true bypass looper is simple enough. I need atleast 2 loops for my effects loop in my amp. Not wanting cables and pedals all over the place, i'd like to have the effects and the looper sitting on top of my amp, and a remote, with hopefully a single cable (probably a multipin like the mesa's). Can anyone point me to/make me a schematic/layout for all the relays?
Thanks,
Murad

basically like that. FX doctor is not in business now, and otherwise sketchy. anyone have an idea about something like that? (four loops would actualyl be awesome)

hello YouAre...

seems to me that you are looking for a similar thing i built the last months.

here are links which helped me a lot:

-> http://www.tubefreak.com/tubefreak.html (goto schematics and then Custom A/B Switcher)

depending on how many relays/loops you want to remote you can take a midicable or like i did a simple networkcable.

good luck

I make such things - here's a quick picture of the biggest one yet:

It's done the simplest way, basically, so as to make it hard to break and easy to fix. Latching switches are in line with the relay coils (which have a diode across them to), the LEDs and a small resistor to get the current and voltage drops right. Then each relay is wired as a DPDT footswitch would be. The PCB has two large ground planes, and the whole system has separate signal and switching grounds to reduce switching noise getting into the signal line.

where do you get those nice looking jack input sockets? I have the same type on my Watkins amp. they are much more aesthetically pleasing than normal open jacks.

They're Rean (Neutrik) ones - enclosed plastic bodies, chrome nose. I got mine from Farnell as a batch of 500.
