Ok, so I've read RG keen's Musical distortion primer and I have a question.

To get full wave rectification you run the signal through two parallel diodes of diferent polarity..correct? How do you get "partially full wave" rectification?

WHen you want to clip the top or bottom of the waveform you just orient the diode differently, correct? How do you orient the diode for top or bottom clip/rectification?

Thanks for you time. I'm just learning about this diode stuff.

google "diode rectification" & just "rectification".
or just do some googleing on diodes & what they do "normally".
in clipping off the top or bottom of the/a waveform,
this adds harmonics...in some cases,
this makes the musical note"more pleasing".
But, this a subjective subject.

check out this thread, has an interesting circuit that might be able to be tweaked to perform partial rectification.
