Sparkleboost problem . No boost

Just finished sparkleboost. Subbed J201 for a mpf102 other than that

its all up to spec. plug in and volume and gain controls work

but has no boost. top volume same as the amp. drain voltage at 4.5v

and went over it several times. could it be the mpf102?

It could be the mpf102; try to replace it. Sparkleboost should have some boost, although from other threads it's stated that mpf102 has less gain than j201 and nte458.

It could also be some resistance, e.g. bad connection, wrong/bad resistor. In the second thread, I believe there are some voltage readings. You could double check there. Good luck.

Thats a great link, and i have read threw it but still havent

discovered my problem. Im gonna go threw it again and if I cant find

anything Im gonna wait for my J201 to come and change it out

wired in a dpdt switch and plugged into the rest of my chain and did notice

some boost. maybe a few db's but the clarity and tone it gave my rig

was  very noticable.nice pedal . should I expect more volume with the

j201 because I built this thing hoping to use it as a leadboost with my

cover band and the mpf102 just aint giving it any boost.

I believe the NTE458 is reccomended...and watch for a pin out difference.
Also...trim the bias by ear...it can vary have a small sweet spot.
