Hi!
Did anyone manage to make a PCB for the Electric Mistress so you can build it in a Hammond BB box?

There is a bit too much to fit into a 1590BB, unless one uses vertical mounting of resistors, small caps, and maybe SIP-style op-amps.  It *could* be done, but the only DIY layout I have seen is based on the assumption that people are using "normal" chips, caps, and resistors laying flat on the board - too big for a 1590BB.

Sorry, but am I missing something here? Why should an effect fit into this tiny box? Surely it should fit into an Electric Mistress sized box.

Not necessarily, Steve.  For example the Retrosonic clone of the original Boss CE-1 - itself a pedal much larger than the original DEM - is packed into a 1590BB (and that's BB not B).  Fortunately, relocation of power-supply related components to a wall-wart, and the decreased footprint of many components (e.g., caps, stompswitch), relative to their size in 1978, makes this possible.  For purposes of a pedalboard, it is desirable for many to have a smaller package, so that a player can stand in one position on the sort of  tiny stage available in many drinking establishment, and reach all their pedals.  My belief is that it *would* be possible to do this with the DEM, since it is feasible with the CE-1 - a pedal of just as many components - but that the layout to accomplish this has not been produced....yet.

Thanks, Mark.

That doesn't make any sense.
Did you see a Fuzz Face box? I fitted it in a type B box (much smaller than a BB). Same with a Big Muff box, the original one is much bigger thatn the one you can build with tonepad's layout.
And so on with a lot of effects.

I see what you mean - I never use a pedal board so size is not important, but don't tell Errol Flynn!
