Hey,

I've just got my 'Ruby' working, with a 0.25watt, 57mm speaker.

Sounds good but a bit buzzy.

I just wondered what speakers other people have used??

cheers

I've had mine attached to a 1X12 and also a 4X12 cab !!
The bigger the better IMHO :D

i can only support this statement.
a 4x12 cab with greenbacks sounds way better than some small hifispeaker.
if you want to build a really tiny speaker inside the enclosure of your ruby (so you can use it when it isn't connected to a cab) i suggest you pick some plastic ones, they have a cooler buzz than paperconed speaker that size. but it WILL buzz :P

I'm with Marty on this.  Sounds great through a 4x12.  I've got sound clips on my site with it going through my 4x12.

You don't have to use a 4x12.  You could get good results with a nice 8" or 10" as well.

Mine goes into a 2x12" loaded with Celestion G12H30s.

Home-made open-backed cab with 8" Celestion. Sounds great!

I wanted it to sound "big", but keep it small, and not spend to much cash. I bought a 6" PA speaker by a company called "SpeaKa" at a local electronic warehouse ("Conrad", usually expensive) for 27 Euros, that's about 20 USD. Well, the speaker is sorta like a Celestion or Emminence copy and sounds great, even connected to my 100W Marshall head! I'm gonna get me at least another one of those, and build me another little cab.
