Hey RDV, Thanks for all the samples, especially this one. I hadn't heard a sample of it before, just on what it was supposed to be. It has some other stuff going on in the back ground besides just the octave. It's pretty destinctive. The Dr. Quack I liked, but I believe I like the Phuncgnosis better. The "The Fuzz" sample I didn't care for at all, which really surprises me. Usually anything to do with fuzz I'm all for, but I found that particular one repelling. To me it had no musical quality to it at all, like trying to hear a fuzz behind white noise. I think you've found my fuzz thresh hold! Ha!

That was the most extreme setting on THE FUZZ, but yes it is disgustipating.

The Shocktave does it's thing with a Blackfire stage feeding the splitter circuit, and it has some indecision about the note it's supposed to track, causing some strange anomolies. Build it, it's fun to play with, but forget chords.

I need to ammend my note a little. The up octave stuff on there was good, but the chord part (I'm guessing that had to be it) was repulsive. The Axis samples were great by the way. I think that's what makes the Shocktave interesting, is it's kind of spontaneous tracking. I'm really fickle when it comes to pedals. I think I have a new favorite every week, but I'll be hard pressed to hear one I like any better than the Crash Sync. When you adjust it to where it's in it's octave state, you can find a sweet spot where it will splatter the second octave down in behind the first octave down, it's really cool. The sustain on this thing seems to be absolutely endless, and then all at the same time, it has all sorts of sonic weirdness going on in the back ground. If I ever get an expression pedal set up to work the timer pot, it'll go to a whole new level. Right now, it's my favorite, well..... until next week.....

Hey Ricky

Thanks alot for the sample catalog you re building up here!!

After all that s a better decision making help than a schematic.

We still need that though, but it s all about ears and music.

Hope there s more to come!

Oh, there's more to come all right! I'm going to record a sample of everything I've built or bought. At my site I've created a new Sounds page, and I intend to fill it up!

Thanks for the sample RDV, I got inspired and built one !!
Works also with GE Diode, swapping Q's of course makes a difference, some of them at least did.
I'm getting thick resosnant Bass Guitar sound with nice tracking [not hard to 'work'], and high strings that sound very like the sample...12 stringy sounding.
 Nice Octave Down Build !!!
Thanks Joe Davisson for showing us how so few parts can make Octave Down !!!
