Go and look at this !!!
This is my own weirdest mod i have ever find !
You D+ feedback a bit like a crash sync but there is more behind this mod.
If you play high notes a kind of second moving note is appearing behind and if you put the 1M at max and the 100k at the right point you got some moving tremolos :!:  :!:
If you have 5 minutes to spend i recomend you to try this 8)
It's nice and if you switch off you have your normal distortion plus.
Let me know what you think about it.
For those who goes on experimentalous anonymous yes i send the same post but that's because i'm proud of it  8)

WOWOWOWOWOW!

This is one awesome mod, although I didn't follow it exactly. I just added a wire from the 0.01 cap to the 1 meg resistor. I made it switchable with a 3 way switch and two wires; one going to before the 1 meg and 1 going behind the 1 meg resistor (+ added a 1k trimpot to set in some gain). On the middle setting the unit sounds the same (as thought), on the before setting the unit sounds like it wants to start a fire..... it gives out a huge sound (did I already say huge?) with lots of bass and a bit treble cut; finally on the after setting the sound can vary between a bit of added distortion and some slight tremolo.

I love this unit.

Can you make sound clips? I'm curious how this sounds.

Bernardduur

At first, no, I am Dutch. My name is the short version of a character I once though up in one of my songs; the gut is calling someone for his neighbour and therefor calls him Bernard d'Uur, or shortened B'Uur (which is "Neighbour" in dutch). I am kind of used to the name so it is my most known alter ego (at guitargeek I am called berarduur due to some typo's I made).

No, I don't know why it happens. I guess you are feeding some of the original signal back into the "negative" input of the opamp which regulates in a way the amount of gain / boost the opamp should preform.
I don't mind. I like the sound I am getting. It is so wooly and big.

And second, no, I am afraid I can't make any soundclips because my amp is at the repair shop and my second amp is not that good in recording. I found it to sound a bit like the total chaose of "endless nameless" from the nevermind CD (the setting without the trimpot) only a lot more bassy and of lesser "quality"; it is like I am turning the distortion knob open all the way with some weird EQ thing going on.

Oh, I forgot to mention I do not have a distortion + but I preformed this mod on a clone I once got by a trade and am very in love with. It is a cheap clone of the MXR Distortion + made by the Japanese brand Coron. They are housed in the same boxes with the same knobs and so, but sound in my ears a bit different; I used to call the the whore of a distortion + because they sound much nastier, less sterile.

And something else: I put this unit into a bigger unit with distortion (Coron), Fuzz (Solasound Tonebender MKII) and overdrive (Colorsound Overdriver) so I have all the gain issues in one pedal. I posted a lot on Guitargeek on it.
