This post has been the most motivational thing I have read! When I first saw I thought there is never enough time, I better quit wasting my time on the internet and do something!

I didn't even bother to read it! Everyime I see it it makes go spend some time "in the lab" instead of surfing the internet. I'm bumping to keep me motivated. I'll need it, I have to get up early go to the hospital (my wife is expecting) then to the job, then back to the backed up freelance work that is falling behind schedule...

Geesh! ... how do you find anything :) ... although mine isn't much better at the moment!

Currently I have a Neovibe PCB, a Smallstone PCB and an EH Electric Mistress PCB all gathering dust ....

but that's cool - I've already built a Tonepad Small Clone, AD-3208, Shaka Tube, Fuzz Face, EA Tremolo and a Dynacomp so I'm happy for now.

I've got a day job, a wife and 2 kids.  Like the other guys have said, it's just taking things in stages and using the blocks of time you have available - and I find it's easy to not watch TV if there's something I REALLY want to build!

Try and do some technical college subjects in basic electronics - that gave me the basic skills to get the motivation to do stuff like this.  I guess a formal course also means you have to MAKE the time to do something.

The main thing is to learn to have patience (my weakness), keep your priorities straight, and learn to be resourceful with time. Take advantage of little moments. Sometimes you would be surprised what you can accomplish in ten minutes.
