I got an Ibanez Sonic Distortion. When i press on, the effect sound is OK. When in bypass mode, no clean sound coming out but some blend of distortion sound. Anyone could suggest a possible remedy ?

Could i change it to True Bypass ?

Try to find a suitable schematic ( any 9-series pedal will do)  and look how the bypass works, it seems that the fet (2sk30?) that is disconnecting the distorted signal has failed. Is there any clean signal when you completely turn donw the volume and distortion?

PS I would NOT change to pedal to true bypass because it seems it relativly valuable by now, so you should get it repaired and keep it as original as possible.

You can use an external bypassbox
