I completed a Fuzz Face clone using germanium transistors off from the general guitar gadgets website and I'm having trouble with it not getting a whole lot of fuzz or output volume.  Any thoughts on what could be causing this?

I just finished mine last night and have a few more things to change. I did the GGG one as wellnegative version but now im changing it to the positive version like the original- has too many  problems w the neg one. Id check and make sure you dont have any solder bridges then double chk your wiring. I always need to do those afterwords because i get in a hurry or get too drunk and make mistakes.

Good luck.

Hard to say for sure.

Could be a number of things.
Double check your wiring on your jacks ,switch, etc.  Also check that the transistors are in correctly.

I always test the board without the switch or jacks in the circuit ,to eliminate some of the possible outside problems that can arise. This helps you to concentate on the  circuit exclusively.I use alligator clips and go right from the guitar cord, to the board ,into the amp cord.

What version did you build at G.G.G.?

There is a sticky thread on the top named "what to do when it doesn't work". You may want to check that out for ideas. There is also a debugging page link on the top of the forum.
