Quote from: Ben NWhat's the problem here?  The guy is posting useful information, like those Boss service notes and schematics.  His project pictures are very nice, and not unlike a lot of us do on our own sites, like Paul Marossy, for one.  As for the Tonepad stuff, he isn't trying to pull a fast one, as he openly acknowledges it, as in "thanks to www.tonepad.com".  His host does some advertising, so what?  The guy is indulging his interest in pedals, and sharing.  Again I ask, what is the problem?  (Am I missing something here?)

Ben

Ben,
The "problem" is that so far every single "jeje" post is pointing to his "site"  !!
He/she has not answered one question or given any help at all !!
It's just "spam" after "spam"   about 12 of them sofar and guess what?
The web address has not changed "12 times" either ...
I wish that he/she would get THE POINT, that those interested in whatever layouts he's "nicked" have gone and looked and now he/she
should bugger off  !!! quite frankly....
contribute/discuss/argue .... but DONT SPAM  !!   :twisted:

You need SPRINT LAYOUT 4 to open .LAY files. It's a german sofware and is  very useful and easy to use for drawing pcb layouts. You can get a fully functional version /in russian/ from here:

http://www.ggear.da.ru/

Click on the button in the middle of the menu /the 4th one from left  or right/.
You're on the software page now. Download and enjoy.

Only if you reply latin.

Taking someone else's work or work that is already availible at other sites, converting it into an obscure format, placing it on a barely navigatable site, constantly placing links here, and giving no support for the material posted. Its what I always thought we needed around here.

OK, Marty, I kind of see your point, but:
(a) maybe there is some doubt the benefit of which should be given to this person, who apparently has something of a language limitation here, and
(b) is it really spam?  I don't see that his site is selling anything, and if he getsw some benefit from the hits, so what?  Again, if showing his stuff, whether "borrowed", like the service notes and schematics, or original, like the project pix, is the best he can do as far as communicating, then it isn't spam, really.
JM2C, and I see and respect opposing points of view.

i'm not trying to raise any fur here, but if the forum fills up with mile-long subjects all pointing towards everyone's sites, it'll seem alot more like spam  :wink:

aron

I have asked him to post his updates in the schematics forum; which is where these posts belong.

I saw some useful information on the site, but if it's only repackaged stuff.... hmmm.....

aron

I asked jeje to post his site in the links forum and to use the schematics and layouts form for any new projects, otherwise I will delete and eventually ban further posts completely.

j.frad

that's good news! I haven't been on this forum for too long (couple of months) but I've seen his post(s) a good bunch of times already! It's like copy/paste every three weeks!

puretube

IMHO, the main reason why his posts always look like spam,
is coz he always only links to his intro-page, where it`s not obvious whether new content has been added;

maybe a provider (Lycos) problem, not allowing or redirecting hot links;

the other thing is the popups... maybe he gets bonus bandwidth or pay for that...

about the content of the projects: my opinion is not so humble...

I agree that this guy's site is not  user friendly and when posting he should at least say " Check out my new project..." or something .
On the other side on this site I see for the first time original Boss PCB layouts ready to print and transfer /you need Sprint Layout to open and print the files/.
I would suggest somebody to contact and explain the things  to jeje in french because obviously he's not very good in english.

what would be best is if he had a thread and added a post when he added a new project. then, there would be only one subject, and no one would be bothered (i think)
