IVE READ EVERYTHING ON SMALL BEAR GEOFX OTHERS, ETC... AND STILL CONFUSED WHAT BREADBOARDING IS!!

WHAT I THINK IT IS IS THIS:
A WAY TO WIRE UP A PEDAL WITHOUT HAVING TO SOLDER PARTS INTO PLACE AND BEING ABLE TO TEST THE CIRCUIT AND INTERCHANGE PARTS AS YOU PLAY TO GET EVERYTHING RIGHT. THEN DRAW A SCHEMATIC AND MAKE IT ONTO PERF OR PC BOARD.

IF THE ABOVE IS CORRECT , DOES SMALL BEAR CARRY BREADBOARDS OR SOMETHING SIMILAR?
HOW MUCH $ ABOUT?
IS IT ONLY FOR PROTOYPING, OR CAN IT ALSO BE USED FOR BUILDING A CLONE OF AN EFFECT (AXIS FACE FOR EXAMPLE) AND SEEING IF IT SOUNDS THE WAY YOU WANT AND NOT HAVING TO MOUNT IT INTO A METAL STOMPBOX . THEN IF YOU LIKE IT TAKE PARTS OUT AND SOLDER ONTO PERF BOARD.

ONE FINAL QUESTION:
IF THE ABOVE IS TRUE HOW DO YOU CONNECT CERTAIN PARTS TO OTHER PARTS AS IF IT WAS IN A CIRCUIT?
THANKS :D

Do you have to type in caps, its really annoying.........

Breadboarding is a way to prototype/test a circuit and tweak it easily. It is a plastic board with strips of copper underneath. This allows you to plug components in and build circuits without soldering. Think of it as just a board full of transistor sockets in rows. It is not for building final circuits on and boxing up. You can build ANY circuit on it for prototyping.......

Do a google for breadboard and you can look at some pics.

THANKS THAT IS WHAT I THOUGHT IT WAS, THANKS FOR CLEARING IT UP!!

yep, most I have seen have rows of holes, and about every 5 are connected underneath so any wre or lead in one hole is automatically connected to the other holes.  Its good for testing, but you can't do a lot with it, it really is PROTOTYPING at its best.  I just got mine at ratshack, $20 ad I got a fairly nice/ large one, it suits my purpose anyway....

THANKS ALOT GUYS FOR THE INFO....

formerMember1,

I have two of the "Wish" breadboards from Small Bear, and I really like them a lot.  They are a good size for even fairly large circuits, and they seem well made.  The price is right, too.

ps - the Caps Lock button is the third one up from the bottom left of your keyboard.

Ah, SB sells wishboards?  I have one... the price is definitely right for those, and quality certainly doesn't suck.  I got one twice the size of radioshack's breadboard for half the price... with a substantial jumper kit to boot.  I kinda "wish" ( sorry) i woulda spent the few extra bucks for a bigger one now, but they are expandable too.  Mmyes, get a wishboard, from Steve.
