I built the Neovibe this weekend.  Overall, a great build experience and a great pedal.  Here's the rundown.

Cost: My parts box didn't have many things that fit well with this pedal, so it ran a little under $100 for parts.

Time:  I started the build Saturday evening, and the electronics took me about five hours.  (I take things slowly.)  Building the enclosure took another hour-and-a-half or so, including painting.  Putting it all together was another hour, and debugging was a couple of hours.

Making the Light Shield:  The common wisdom seems to be that making a light shield with a film canister is the easiest route.  I didn't have a film canister handy, so I went the tin-can/tinfoil route.  It took a half hour or so, but it was really not that difficult.  The pedal sounds great, so I must have done it right.

Debugging:  I spent about fifteen or twenty minutes finding a bad solder joint.  Once that was repaired, the only issue was that the light would only oscillate when the speed and depth knob were turned way up.  After an hour or so of futzing with that, I looked up the issue here, and found the threads noting that the parts diagram shows the speed pot wired up wrong.  Fifteen more minutes to take things apart and fix that issue, and everything  was working exactly as planned.

Sound:  I've never heard an original univibe in person, but this pedal sounds fantastic.  The clips floating around the internet do not do it justice.  There is a very tiny bit of buzz when the pedal is on, but it's very tolerable and it could just be a minor grounding problem somewhere in my soldering.  It's small enough that it's hardly noticeable.

I highly recommend this build.

the soundclips i have heard never reall impressed me, but i am interested to hear your results... it looks like a fairly easy build... and that would make it a must have  8)
