BOSS GE-7 IC's Follow-Up

Hi,

I did comparision from the NE5532 and the TLO72 side by side with two GE-7 EQs.  The results are now conclusive: There is NO SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE IN NOISE BETWEEN THE TLO72 AND THE NE5532 for the mods.  The only thing that is significant enough is the price and energy consumption, which I was told the NE5532 drains more power than the TLO72.  Other interesting fact, I had two of the GE-7 old versions (which I compared with the two chips) and had a third one which is the newer version.  My advice is: Stay away from the new version.  When switched on, it has a gap between the dry signal and the EQed signal.  That gap is not pretty.  In the old version, there is NO GAPS, the effect just gets ON like every good effect should.  Well... that was my experiment, hope it will clarify to some what is the best IC out there...
