Need help with LED's

I'm new to working on effects and I'm wanting to alter a few pedals I have now. One question I have is about the LED's. I'm not sure what sizes I need to fit the pedals I have. I'm wanting to change the red LED I have in my Boss DS-1 pedal with a blue one and also with my Big Muff PI but I'm not sure of the sizes I need.  

Sorry if this is a silly question or anything. I'm just now trying to get into altering and making my own effects.

with the ds-1 it does'nt really matter,you could get the 3mm, or even a 5mm and just make the hole fit with a drill bit. You could even put in one of those nifty bezels, if it'll fit nicely between the knobs.

For the DS-1 you'll need a 3mm and I'm guessing that the Big Muff uses a 5mm.  You may have to mess around with the current limiting resistor on the LEDs to get the brightness you're after, though.
