I'd get one... but most of my guitars came with 'em on the inside...

I'm probably going to install tube sound switches pretty soon, though...

That is incredible!
Notice how the first feature mentioned on the list is "True Bypass"?
Like that is its major selling point!
Unbelievable stuff, hope they sell loads...

Isn't "passive preamp" an oxymoron? And if you're somebody who "...enjoys pure guitar tone, the mix of resonant wood, pickups and a good amp...", what do you need this thing for?

I have a schematic of a similar idea from a book from way back that a friend of mine copied for me (1983?)  Somewhere around that time.
It has a transformer inside with assorted value caps, which you can dial in the different caps for different tones, I don't know what the other kno(pot?) is for though.  I will try to remember to put it up monday when I get back to work, I will have to scan it, etc....
Maybe.... this is what it is....

I want some of those enclosures though

Of course I don't buy all the *hype*...but it seems to me: a rotary switch with some carefully selected filter pre-sets might be usefull.  I know my Smooth & Slim by Gil Ayan is a simple but VERY effective passive tool for me.

 I think we all agree about the coil and caps thing.

Could be PIAIA or Varitone style.

I am wondering about the Tube Sound though  :?

I thought it could give you ideas about how a simple thing could look good. Especially when you don't want to mess with your guitar.

Oh, Arn, it would be interesting to see your schematic...

The first Passive Tone Control I have seen was from Electronics Projects for Musicians, very nice book but dated lol.  quote from the book "its called passive because it requires no source of power for operation"
