Ok this is from my westone guitar. I had the bridge PU replaced by some guy years ago. Never was sure if he did it properly or what. So the seymour Duncan is his wiring job. The westone one is stock.
From what I can tell in the Seymour PU when you turn the pot halfway down it seems to 'tap' a coil, or maybe just makes one very quiet?
I am trying to suss what is really going on with these tone controls as I am trying to upgrade my setup.
I have since changed the seymour to the neck position, a switch for series, coil tap, parallel, and a second for phase. I also added some cap switchings for each pickup. The bridge PU is wired up in the stock Westone fasion.
Here is a schematic tot he DFuncan wiring I used except I did the fancy switching on the neck PU, not bridge.

So my questions are.
What is going on with the Duncan PU's tone control as wired in the poorly drawn schematic?
I _think_ the coils for the Duncan are Black (hot) and White (cold), and Red (hot) and Green (cold).

I guess my second question is about having a pickup who's wiring is unknown. I know I can suss the two coils, but is there any weird phase thing that can happen if one coil isn't wired properly?
I did a lot of internet searching and found no conclusive answer, only that to know what the wires are to check with manufacturer. A search for Westone schematic and PU wiring found nothing....

I thought this dual pot thing was neat and different. All thoughts appreciated!!

Another guitar wiring item I wanted to discuss was this mod at Stewart McDonald

The "anti-shock" circuit is the one I am most curious about. Could this allow your guitar to buzz or otherwise increase the noise?
