I just acquired an Acoustic 370 bass head. it was broken i did some resoldering and it seems to work OK now. I was getting super low output before. i believe the problem was a loose end of an inductor in the EQ section. The ouput seems good, but i can turn it up 100% and its pretty loud, but not that loud.

I am using an 8 ohm cabinet. I  am wondering if that is the problem. Could that cause the low output? and maybe the noise? I know this amp is rated for 4 or 2 ohm. 2 ohm being the highest RMS power. Please let me know if im making sense i know this topic is kind of ...well ....off topic.

There is an acoustic board here

Try posting there and see if you get any good info.

It's solid state so the impedance mismatch shouldn't be that bad. How big is your cab? Those 370's are monsters. The original cabs (371?) were huge and moved a lot of air. My bass player used to run her 370 through my 4x10 and it really overloaded it. You should be getting fairly loud and distorted tones out of that head. It's a great, unique, sounding head and worth fixing up in my opinion.
