parallel universe troubles

okay, i'm completely confused. i wired up a parallel universe circuit as posted in dragonly's vero layouts. in fact, i did it twice. neither builds have worked, and the second one i payed exact attention to what i was doing. i know the problem isn't with my soldering, and i'm pretty confident i have all my pots wired up right. so, my question is, what problems could occur within the circiut board of this particular circtuit? any help would be greatly apreciated.
