average drill bit size? for making/drilling pcb's

i need to buy one as i get ready to explore the wonderfull world of pcb making/etching. Whats the most common size?

Jimbob,

I really like the #68 size that Small Bear sells.  It is thin enough for the smallest pads, and can just handle the leads of DIP sockets.

Hi,

I use a 1mm size bit. Its not too large and is just an exact fit for the leads of a 1n4001 diode

Make sure the bit you use covers your wiring also. I use 22ga wire, and use a different size just for wires.
