Ok, I bought a new black russian Big Muff for 20$ Had a bad out put jack= easy fix..But then i read that the triangle big muff was a great version so i bought a board from GGG and used the schematic from Tonepad and populated it. Im using the original russian 100k pots, the case, ect...3pdt switch, but im using Switchcraft jacks, a barrell boss style jack for power that im placing between the input and output jack.

This should turn out to be a great pedal! I socketed the trannies just in case. I noticed the russian pots are different. Im trying to keep it authentic. :)

I thought about buying some knobs closer to the originals.

Any other ideas are welcome. I thought about painting a triangle type label on the front to distinguish it from all the other Black Muffs. I think ill rehouse the other (original board) unless anyone up for a trade.

Cool.

I housed a DIY BMP in a ruskie box and it looks pretty cool.  Big red Radio Shack knobs, silver LED bezel and a power jack.  People ask me about it all the time.

Here's what i did I think I like.
 Lownoise transistors [2n5089]
Ge diodes pointing 'down', one on each of on the two clipping stages.
Smaller 'smoothing' caps in the clipping section[s.
One of these Marty's suggested using smaller caps for all the .1uf's [.01uf IIRC] which in my estimation would [might] be a good one to limit the mongo bass this thing puts out.

I rebuilt a friends "US BM" recently, new pots/power jack and a great
"Metallic Purple" respray !
Black "Chicken head" knobs looked fantastic on it !!

I use mine for bass.  I use a pair of Ge's for the second clipping stage to soften it a bit.
