Hey all, so this is it: Im looking into a buying a Boss MZ-2 and I want to know what your fine tuned ears think about it.  Also, what about mods? The schematic is easy to find, and Im thinking of doing a silkscreen mod (capacitor type replacement to take down the noise).

The "Digital Metalizer" ?
Well, I kind of like it, I know that Gilmour uses one and I took a peek
inside, there's lots of tiny surface mount components, so it looked like
a nightmare to "mod" !!
It's a bit too "digital" sounding for my taste !
Some interesting "Dual/Chorus" tones though ....

the reality is an old-school 12 bit digital circuit. Belonging to the early days of mixing creative digital electronics in an attempt to make them emulate analog style hardware.

Any reduction in the noise floor is probably going to be gobbled up by the low bit depth and low sample rate of the chorus circuit.

it's a good loopback siren pedal

you could do some interesting stuff with it if you get a handle on how the DA/AD works, and maybe make that section a little cleaner, but, probably better to work on modding something with less SMD on it.

also, it's 2 pcbs tiered one over the other, and they are almost impossible to seperate.
which part of sin theta plus index times sin theta times ratio do you need me to clarify to you?
