never mind, my problem is solved. I'm going to order everthing at Banzai's!

As a replacement for 1N34's, 1N4148's maybe?? I'm using 1N4148's but it's said that I can use 1N34's as a replacement. Maybe you can use LED's, they are also used as diodes (they ARE actually diodes, Light Emitting Diode). :D

i'm already getting leds and silicons but i want to get some germanium diodes too just to try out  8)

#1 unibit/varibit from Lowes or Home Depot works very well. Get a $5 center punch and make dimples in the enclosure then make pilot holes over the dimples using a small drill bit. After that, drill up to size with a well lubricated unibit.

Probably too late, but I have had good success with 1N4007 diodes.  This was actually recommended by my analog electronics professor a couple years ago, though his reasoning was more with reference to component lifetime than interesting nonlinear effects.

I have not found that I like 1n914's and 4148--generally switching diodes much after having messed around with the rectifier types.

I've modded my V810 to this schematic:

I have been using it for a little over a year now with an OP275 op amp.  I have been quite pleased with it each time I romp on it--seems to have a little more interesting sound.

If you want to use it as a clean boost, you need to replace that 51k resistor with a 10k or so.  It won't change the overall sound of your pedal, but it will make the drive pot range different, and it will seem different.  It won't make the pedal sound any differently except that on the low end it will appear to be very quiet.  The resistor mod is something you can do pretty easily when you put sockets in--and you can experiment with different values of resistors as well.

i'll look if i can get them at my local electronics store but probably not
but i'll try to get some when i order components for my next pedal.
those unibits are quite expensive   guess i'll have to borrow one

yeeh parts arrived  :D
let the building start  8)

you've also ordered at Banzai's, right?? How long did it take before the parts arrived after you had ordered?? I ordered my parts yesterday (evening) but I'm waiting for his email to confirm. And sunday next week (31 July) I'm going on holiday, so it might get tricky... :(

waix

i ordered on tuesday

oh yeah where can i find the sizes of the holes i need to drill in my enclosure?
in metric please if possible  :?:

waix

just soldered the board  :D wasn't too hard

tomorrow drilling the case and installing everything  8)

Fumi SG

I ordered my stuff yesterday (tuesday) so I hope I will get it tomorrow or friday... I hope I'll get it before sunday, 'cause then I'm flying to Florida! 8)  Waix, can you post some pics maybe??

OT: Any guys here who know some nice music-stores in Miami/Orlando/other big cities in FL??? :D

waix

i'll try to upload some pics when i've finished the pedal

drilled the holes this afternoon, biggest bit i could find however was 10mm so i got to borrow one for the footswitch and 9v holes  :?

waix

so i went to a good friend of our family to borrow some drilling bits.
and he asks me what i'm building.
i say a guitar effects pedal and he gives me all his old guitar effects  :D

so now i got a cosmosound wild-sound fuzz, a Korg Mr. multi wah and to top it off a Elektro harmonix small stone  8)
