I have built the Ruby Amp yesterday. Fantastic little amp!! I was quite amazed at the great tones that came from it, when I connected it to the speaker of my Blues Jr. It can certainly compete with that amp and it reminds me a little of the Fender Pro Jr. that I once played.
Very quick and easy build, great for beginners like me. It worked on the first try, I must be learning something here :D
I found this little tin in our shed. The dutch folks over here might recognize it: it's a repair kit for the tires on your bicycle. Not a very large can, as you can tell from the scale under it (centimeters), but quite large enough for a tiny amp like this.
Great fun to build, with rewarding results.

super awesome case!  Almost as good as the guys that ar building into toy cars!
Try a little tenderness.

Thanks for the build report, I've been contemplating one of these. I might go ahead and do it. Cool case, too.

You really should build it. It took me just one night to complete (being a complete newb), so it isn't an enormous time investment to find out just how great this amp sounds. Again, I was completely surprised as to the great sound it produces. Makes a perfect little practice amp IMO.

Great job. Here's My Ruby. No knobs just lights.

Hoi!

Here's my Ruby, built right into my old practice amp's case: Ruby Build Report. I've built it last year and it has been in heavy use since. Great little amp!

Your Simson box reminded me of the NPN boost I built:

Where do you get your parts in Holland?

This seemed like the most logical place to put this!---

I just put up a new sound clip on my samples site.  It's just a lil verse-chorus idea i felt like recording today so i dont forget it (with some poor singing for the chorus too!  )...  Everything is pure SG Deluxe -> ruby -> mic -> computer, except the "pretty" part in the chorus where i added some echo chamber to the guitars with my recording software.  Layers are panned hard left/right for the most part, so you can hear the tones i used individually too i guess.  So yeah, in case you havent heard enough samples of this little beast, here's another.

Those altoids cans are what inspired me to put it in this tin can in the first place. After seeing your build reports I found this in the shed and it just begged to have a Ruby Amp built in there.
