Ibanez MS10 Metal Charger lacks volume - any mods?

My specimen of the above pedal seems to be quiter on then when bypassed even with level control maxed.
I've tried doubling the diodes (I can't remember which ones - theres more then 1 pair) this helped a little but it still aint got enough guts
is there a resistor a can change somewhere or something?

Try removing one pair completely and using 3mm red LED's - you'll have a better
tone less "mush" and more volume
It's kind of a "double" diode tube screamer with eq so all the regular
"tweaks" should work !

Does anyone know which diode pairs do what?
The ones I doubled are D5 and D6
