My cousin brought a problem to me with the Arion SAD-3. After playing through it for awhile, the sound gets fuzzy and the volume drops. From what I see, (can't find a schematic) it uses MN3205 and MN3102 chips.

Any thoughts on things to look for or probable culprits with this?

Battery. Those things will eat batteries in a short while. I would be afraid to use it for a four gig on just a brand new battery!

Thanks, but the battery isn't an issue. Its running off of a power supply.

Oh, I see. Hmm... no ideas on that one at this time. Here  is a schematic of the SAD-1. The SAD-3 is probably pretty close to this, AFAIK.

'Preciate it, Paul. I guess it's time to break out the old audio probe and get to pokin'...  :?

With any luck, someone else has had this problem, or could offer some theoreticals on it.

Meh, not really.  But I thought this thing didn't run on MN3205s?  I thought it ran on BL3208s or something.

Anyways, sounds like a bad cap if you are using a power supply.  Perhaps in the power supply or biasing areas.

Some SAD-3 pedals use an MN3208 according to this thread:

There are probably 2-3 versions of the SAD-3 as there was the SAD-1. I was under the impression that the two circuits aren't that different from eachother. Anyway, the power filter cap may be faulty as you suggest.  8)

SAD-3 has a MN3208, 50-200ms delay. SAD-1 has a MN3205, and is 50-300ms delay. Maybe later, I'll take a pic of an SAD-3 board.

Any idea on how close the two schematics would be?
