I've got two female XLR jacks here. What can I build with them that I can use in my home studio?

Got Fuzz?

That's like saying "I've got 4 tires here, what car can I build with it"  :P

You could build a mic preamp, or a DI box.

I've got a Behringer Ultra-DI, and my mixer does the mic preamp job. Maybe this was a stupid question.   Sorry.

Got Fuzz?

You could get two male ends and make two good mic cables.  Or better yet you could make two MIDI-to-XLR cables.  They come in real handy for MIDI over long runs.

I have no MIDI equipment. These XLR jacks are panel mount, so I was thinking about mounting them in a 1590BB and making some type of effect or.....

 What about a guitar effect like a ring-mod that was controlled by the users voice? I used to have a Snarling Dogs Mold Spore Wah and the ring-mod on it was controlled by the wah rocker pedal. I'm sure there's some way to use a mic to control the ring mod.

Some bass amps and basses now use XLR connectors.

So do Taylor acoustic guitars.

Perhaps an acoustic or bass-specific effect?
