Hello all....I built this pedal off of JD Sleep's wonderful website and though I Like the overall vibe of this pedal,I'm finding it too bright in the highs and the high/mids...I run my treble control just about all the way off....I opted for 25k pots for both treble and mids, but I could go back to the stock 10k,though I still remember the pedal being very toppy? I Mean it cuts wonderful in my classic rock band, but it's a bit toppy!  :D

Also,I've tryed both the TL072 and the Burr Brown OPA2134? The jury is still out on whether I actually hear any tonal difference between the 2 opamps?

Can you guys off some ideas on making the treble control more responsive, while taming some of the overall highs on mine? Thanks again.

I really liked changing C1 to 1uF and changing R1 to a 10k pot - used as a voicing control. This fills in the bottom end under the highs.

Also, if you short the wiper on VR1 to the right hand side of VR1 and use 3mm red LEDs for the diodes - this adds a lot more gain and reduces fuzzieness.

C6 could be boosted to .1uF - .2uF too.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks for the post and your ideas mojotron....I'm happy with the gain amount and I'm finding I Like the TL072 opamp better and it's gainier than the Burr Brown OPA 2134 chip...I Like your C1 and C6 ideas and I should start with those first.Maybe using a 10k trimmer for R1 would work and once I find a setting I Like,I could either leave the trimmer at that setting or put a solid resistor in there? Wonder what value you found you liked most for R1? Have you measured it mojotron? Thanks again..

I have it as a normal pot because I use it a lot to go from 2k - 9k. However, I could see that if you left VR1 with it's original config, you could likely find a single value for R1 that would be nice for that whole range.
