Soft recovery/smooth transition diodes??

The solidstate fizz that you hear with diodes when the note fades to clean...

Worst with LED's, bad with silicon, not so bad with GE diodes.

I understand there are soft recovery/smooth transition diodes now available? Does anyone have any experience with these?
