Hi all,
here's the symptom:

I lent my digitech GNX2 to my friend.  His 1-spot adapter had died a while ago, and was using batteries, but his MT-2 seems to suck the life out of batteries even when there's nothing plugged into it and the switch is off.  Anyways, that's not the issue.  this is:  He plugged the 9VAC 3Ampere adapter for my GNX into his boss.  GRR.  He noticed it wasn't working... DUH!!!     He also tried a battery and it doesn't work now.
ANyways, I now have it disassembled on my desk next to me.  There are no blown electrolytics.  (the tops aren't bent out)  and the pedal reeks of burnt electronics.  I am guessing that it is the diode next to the power jack.  If anyone could help me troubleshoot this, it would be of great help.  I can take pictures if it would help.  Thanks in advance
Ken

OK, I'll take pics of it and send them in.   It doesn't really look like anythings wrong with it
So I don't know how much a pic will help you out

I've got this on my site
I scanned them in a while ago, when I got the service docs from Roland. I was totally shocked that no-one else had a proper scan of them online.
which part of sin theta plus index times sin theta times ratio do you need me to clarify to you?

Joep

Most likely the protection diode is gone.... It's D006, have a look on mt2-06.jpg in the zip file. You can replace it with a 1N400x type diode, make sure the polarity stays the same (check the white or black ring on the diode)

Bye,

i can't seem to open the zip file.  I have a mac but I have the most up to date software for unarchiving zip files. Anyways, I'm gonna check the diode with my dmm  today and get back afterwards.
thanks,
Ken
