Found a bunch of wires from old computers at the junk yard.  Stuff like this:

Will that be ok for stompboxes?

That stuff is excellent I salvaged a few copiers years ago...billions of wires and am still using them .....some are thicker but that is just about the correct size...has been working for me
practice cause time does not stop...

Yup, I just built a tube preamp using these. Although they might be too thick for perfboard use... there should be wires of two different thicknesses in that nest.

Use 'em all the time, ez strip, good quality [some are even pretinned]...I like the color coding scheme I settle on.

Inside computer there are a lot of things...., ask at computer shop that assemble pc's or mac, because probably are more than enough. The best are cables that goes from cd-rom unit to the motherboard, these are shielding :)

(Sorry my english)

If I ever see a computer in the trash thats the first thing I take. Almost all of the wire I use now is salvaged, from a variety of things, but the main source is a large spool of wire some one didnt have a use for.

My Firefly (tube amp) has computer wire in it...
