Hendrix type fuzz that isn't compromised by AC power?

Any fuzz out there in the Hendrix vain that doesn't suffer from using a DC power jack (and is also NPN)?  I have a boutique fuzz which sounds outstanding.  However, I was just curious if there was something similar that I could keep on my board and not worry about having to remove the input cable or using the wrong polarity (+). The Axis Fuzz currently has my curiosity.

Thanks

take a look here,

The silicon Axis Face rev 3 has great reviews, he also has other fuzzface's here too.

This fuzz has nothing to do with Roger Mayer's axis fuzz.  This fuzz is silicon NPN built to sound like a GE fuzz.  I am building one very soon.(i already have all parts, just finishing other projects first)

Hi.  Yes, the Axis face is a great circuit.
It is quite Ge-like in several respects.  Even if it isn't QUITE there totally in terms of tone, it is QUIET and stable, etc, which Ge fuzzes never seem to be.
A slightly different sound, that I really like, is the RM axis fuzz.  With the right transistors it has an excellent sound.  People sometimes overlook Jimi's extensive use of this pedal.

If you build this circuit, try a couple of "medium hFE" transistors such as the 2N3904 and 2N3906.

Hello Hello--
Yeah, the Mayer Axis circuit uses 2n3904 and 2n3906 trannys.
Hi Brett, how's things??

Will the axis fuzz work fine with BCxxx's?
Anyone experience?

One of them has to be PNP the other must be NPN...[R.M. Axis Fuzz]

Do a search on something like "convert" "PNP" and "NPN" on this forum. Something in the back of my mind tells me there was a thread about running your PNP FF on negative ground which is basically a simple thing to do.

Hi.
IIRC the tonepad site has all combinations, + and - ground, PNP and NPN.
Neat.
