Hi everyone, its my first post here.. Could have been my second, but this reconstruction stopped me :(

I wonder whats your experience with this one.. (I've checked the old posts, but i want more :)
I've found it very useable, sweet bluesy sounds..
My only promlem is, that i find the bass notes a bit buzzy on high gain settings, and its there on low settings too, just a bit more subtle... Anybody else heard the same? Any way to cure it?

Maybe its my rig. I tried it with an Ibanez s470, humbuckers.. and Yamaha Pacifica 604w, mostly single coil, Roland Cube 30 SS amp. Maybe its the Roland, cause its a very bassy amp even with the bass pot turned min. I'll try it on an all tube Peavey Bravo soon.

Definitely try running it into the input of a tube amp.  The Supreaux does have enough output to overdrive the input of an amplifier.  Solid state amps do tend to make yucky sounds when overdriven.  Does the buzzyness go away when you turn the Volume on the Supreaux down?  If not, a misbiased drain on one or more of the JFETs could account for it being buzzy too.  They are all spec'd at 4.5 V but JFETs can exhibit variances from transitor to transistor.  If you have socketed your trannies, it may be a good idea to try a few different J201's and 2N5457's at 4.5 V drain voltage.

I really like the sound of my Supreaux.  It kinda reminds me of a warm AC/DC (the band) type tone.  When I was making mine, I accidentally used .033 caps at the output filter instead of .0033 and had the darndest time figuring out why it sounded so dead.  When I got it going, though, it really livened things up.

I have 2 Supreaux, both biased properly. (i think, at least that 4,5V is fine) the results are the same.
Its not that buzzy.. not very annoying, just a little bit. If i could smooth it just a little it'd be perfect... Maybe the tube amp will :)

Have the same problem with my ThunderChief (from runoffgroove too), so i guess it must be really some component of my rig...
thank anyway :)

Built another one, and wow!  Finally it sounds as it should!!!
It must have been those Jfets!
I measured 4.5-4.6V at J201 Drain, and about 3-400mA at J201 Source. The MPF102 Source was about 900mA with the same 4,5V Drain.
Altough theese were a bit higher than the runoffgroove baseline specs it works great!

I didn't care the Source voltages before, so i've checked those on my old pedal and  i measured even more... much more than it should be.
I think this explains why was it so  hard to find a "clear" sound, why was it a bit buzzy and had too much gain...

Wish i had socketed those jfets... :(

uh... I mean 900 mV :) All volts of course... sorry :)
