Search for "overdrives/distortions" and you'll find the Ibanez MS10 which is the
next "10" series of the SM-9 with same controls/circuit to 99% !
"Punch" contol is a "bass" control, what's the problem ?

auto oscillation from this stage with a big low
note at output and there aren't errors.

one error only. for the rest this circuit work

I'm to presume that this is an "original" un-modified Ibanez SM-9 ?
I think that most of the "tone" caps would be "poly" type and non polorized
so they wont be "bad".
I'd check for any electrolytic caps that may look "puffed out" or have deposited a
"dusty" residue on the board.
Also check that that "Punch" pot isn't shorted/bad.
You'll have to de-solder it and check its range with a DMM.
Also check the connections between the two board's if I remember right, the
pots all connect to a second board, so there's a "multi connector" between.

Can't think of anything else, unless there's a problem with the op-amp that's
used for the tone section ... ?
