Muff mods?

I am building a Big Muff pedal, I have tried the triangle circuit, the regular (Tone Pad) circuit and the Swollen Pickle.

I would be interested in other builders opinions on their build. I have tried the Ge path, and it didn't do it for me. The S.P. was okay, though I'd say it was different rather then better. As far as guitar goes, I didn't notice much difference between 1uF coupling caps and 0.1uF. That also goes for the decoupling caps to the diodes.

A mod I've never seen that I think would work well with the Muff is to have a 0.1uF cap that is switchable on the input to the Muff, as I like the tone of the Muff when my guitars' tone control is cutting all the guitars treble.

Anyway, these are my observations, I'd like to hear other opinions.

Thanks for your help.

Yours Sincerely

Mark,

The 8k2 base-blockers set the gain and compresion of the whole circuit - you can replace them both by 10k trimmers ... I like to keep the signal caps and everything else stock (except for the devices of course) - just tweak those trimmers to taste ...

Aron posted a link to my BMP mods in the DIY FAQ section - scroll to the bottom ...
