Ok I search this place up and down and for a way to build a channel switch for my amp and I can the idea of how but when it comes to how EXACTLY to wire it, im lost. Im just using a SPST switch wired to a 1/4" female audio jack. The switch only has 2 terminals so Im fine there, but I dont know which terminals to use on the audio jack (it has four as im sure you all know). Could some please help me out here.

Thanks

If it's like most amp channel switches and you connect it with an ordinary guitar cord, then you only have to short the tip of the plug to the sleeve to switch.

If the problem is just figuring out which terminal is which on the 1/4" female audio jack, plug a guitar cord into that jack, then use your digital multimeter on the "ohms" ranges to see which terminals connect to the tip and sleeve respectively on the unused end of the guitar cord. Should take less than ten minutes, including finding the meter.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.
