Need help with fuzzface

Hi,
I built a Si NPN Negative Ground and I have a little problem.
when the fuzz pot gets to full setting, the sound becomes gated which seems a redondant issue with Ge PNP Negative Ground 
I replaced the ouput cap; 0.01uF instead of 0.1 uF; I sold all the ground spots to the circuit, I added a 220uF cap from +9V to ground but the problem is still here.
how can I fix it ? do you guys have any suggestion on a mod to be done ?

Unless it's a wiring mistake, it probably needs to be biased. Try this calculator:

My R1 is 33k, the calculator suggests me 7K.

do you guys have any suggestion on a mod to be done
  replace Q2 collector resistor with a 10k-20k pot, this allows you to adjust bias to suit a wide range of transistors, 'instead' of finding transistors to match the bias setup.
  I always had good results with a 33k - 47k [even 100k trimpot turned all the way up] resistor for Q1 collector.

On Laurier's Handy Dandy Little Circuits  http://members.shaw.ca/roma/fuzz.html  He has a Fuzz Face layout there, that uses about all trim pots. I believer that's the version I'm going to try before long. It looks like it can handle about anything you can throw at it!

  I've had my handy dandy ''mostly trimpots and sockets' FF testboard down in the lab for sometime now.
  Anytime I want to mess with some different transistor types, and get some usable bias or sound, I can revoice the circuit.
  I haven't whipped it into the test jig for sometime now because I used it to 'find' most of the FF's that I have re-built [with fewer sockets and trimpots] around what I found with the FF Testboard, and subsequently boxxed.

I forgot to tell you I had a mid pot, it adds confusion to the debugging. Pete, I have already a trimpot 

I socketed the 33k resistor, I tried 2.2, 10, 33, 47, 68 et 100k. When increasing the value, the gated sound slightly goes away but it adds a touch of octave-up. So I put back the 33k.

Tomorrow I'll try swapping out the 500k pot for a 100k.
