Ok, I installed a Kill switch on a friends tele, and wired the first two poles to the output wire to kill the sound when switched off.  When I turn the switch off theres a bad grounding hum, should I wire the other pole to the ground? I have no idea what to do to solve this.

Run the wire from the positive lug of the output jack to the center lug of the switch.  Wire the output from the volume control to one of the outer lugs of the switch, and a connection to ground on the other outer lug of the switch.

Cool, thanks thats what I was thinking. I'll get that fixed. My friend is OBESSED with Johnny Greenwoods setup and i've been modding his gear to make it a little more radiohead-ish.

Well, you might run into two issues:

First, the switch might pop, in which case you can try a 1/4W 1Meg resistor between the positive and negative lugs on the output jack.

Second, that Radio Shack switch isn't built very well, and won't last very long if he's doing a lot of Greenwood flicks - go to Mouser.com and order a sturdier switch - usually about $4.
