I NEED HELP!!!
I have been using Zoom Super Player 8080's for many years and am addicted to their 8080 version of
"Slow" auto volume swell. I have never found another manufacturer (including zoom) to come close to
the 8080 version. This effect has become a trademark for me, and I am looking for someone who can build me a stompbox of this version of this effect, along with the same adjustable parameters.
I would also like get the "Dynamic Filter" effect, along with it's adjustable papameters.
Anyone out there that can disect multi-effects units, please contact: jef cierniak.

Robert Penfold did a circuit with a slow volume swell a few years back. I'm guessing it could be adapted to a filter as well. However it would probably take some work to get it right, and I don't know whether it has anything like the parameters you're looking for.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Jef,
Which other ZOOM pedals have you tried?
Apologies if I am telling you something you already know:   The 707II unit has a slow attack effect which appears to have the same controls as the 8080 - attack time and "curve".  The effect of the curve parameter on the 707II is subtle but there is a definite difference.  I am not familiar with the 8080 so I cannot compare directly.

HTH,

Peter

I would be interested in what you feel is lacking in other *swell* effects vs. the 8080. The Line 6 Echo Park (here I go again :icon_wink:) actually does a decent volume swell effect. I'm a bit old fashioned when it comes to this though, as I have never met a swell effect that works better than [my foot + volume pedal] .
