Homemade Rat question

I built the "La Rata" version of the Proco Rat from Tonepad.com.

It functions reasonably well overall, but I find that when I turn the Filter control all the way to the bass side, there is a massive drop in volume and gain. It almost cuts out the sound completely. I haven't tried a real ProCo Rat, but I'm fairly sure this isn't the way the Filter is supposed to work.

Did anybody else have this problem?

There is a very noticeable volume drop when the filter is at 100% bass. This is just how the rat is built. I have an original rat and it does exactly the same thing.

Depending on your signal chain (guitar/pickups/amp/etc), it may be even more noticeable, but it shouldn't cut out completely, the volume control must be able to compensate for the gain lost in the filter, otherwise you have an error in your build.

The Rat does that too, eh? Well, I suppose I should try out the original effect before I build one of my own next time, so I know what to expect.

Thanks dude. You saved me a nightmare of a debug session.

  There a mod for that.

I have every version they have made and none mine do that.  There will be some apparent volume drop but the Gain and Volume should stay pretty much intact.  The Volume won't be as cutting as when it is in the more Treble postions but is still there.
