I am looking to build a Marshall Shredmaster, and I would like some advice on what to do to get rid of the "Contour" stage because I don't plan on using it at all and I want less knobs on my pedal. I'd also like to know some mod tips on getting more distortion and treble. I'm new to building and this is my first project. The schematic I'm working off of can be found here:

Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Do you want to keep the same frequency response, so it's like having a preset Contour, or just get rid of the Contour completely (which will change the sound)?  If the latter, remove R9, R10, and R11, and C13, C14, and C15, then connect pin 1 (where R9 used to be) to C16.

If you want to save panel space, and still want the same sound, I would keep the Contour control, but replace it with a trimpot mounted on the PCB.  Set it and forget it inside the box.

i think it would be a bit silly to build a shredmaster and not include the contour control. it really opens up the range of sounds availible from the pedal.

yea, i want to keep the frequency response the way it is, but pretty much set and forget. I already use a Shredmaster for my main tone, but in my setup the Contour is always completely off, I've messed with it, it just didn't have anything i was looking for. But I do want to somehow create more distortion. Is there anyway to acheive that?

hi,

an other great Shredmaster mod;

change the C17 in the last op-amps stage form 1nF  to 100pF! much heavyer sound ;) (like "shark" on the Visual sound jekyll&hyde)

greetings khe
