Transformer question

I'm building a reamping device and have a question regarding the transformer.  The schematic is here: http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=38922.0

The transformer I bought matches the specs on the schem, but both the primary and secondary are center-tapped.  So can I use this transformer?  Do I just leave the 2ndary center-tap lug unwired?  I really don't know what center-tapping does for a transformer.  Can anyone help?

BTW, the transformer is this one: http://www.edcorusa.com/classx/matching/xsm/XSM10k-150.htm however the lugs are arranged slightly differently.  Still 6 lugs though (three on top, three on bottom).

Just ignore the unneeded center tap.

A center tap is just that - a wire brought out from the electrical middle of a winding. I offers you options. You can ignore it and use the whole winding, or only half of it at half the voltage and the same current or half of it and 1/4 of the impedance.
