Original Distortion Pedal Idea?

I'm a bass player, so this is all in the vein of bass, but it applies just as easily to guitar.

What are your thoughts on a pedal with seperate Overdrive and Fuzz controls?

Imagine a Bassdrive or similar pedal, complete with boost, but with controls for not only Volume, Tone, and Boost, but also two seperate controls for blending a fuzz signal with an overdrive signal? At their left-most positions they would ideally provide a completely clean signal, and at right-most provide the characteristics of overdrive and fuzz, respectively. Would these knobs perhaps need be the click-off sort, so they'd "click" into bypass in the left-most position? Also, how could this be done to avoid having to use a "Blend" control like so many bass-effects, and how do you sum the overdrive and fuzz effects equally at the output? Ideally the pedal would have two outputs, one for both overdrive/fuzz if plugged in alone, or for overdrive and fuzz seperately when run seperately.

I don't know a great deal about electronics, but the idea for this pedal interested me, so I thought I'd ask the more experienced people on this forum. Thanks!

That is helpful, but not exactly what I meant... I'm thinking this is not two effects in one, but more like one effect with two different distortion circuits in parallel... Any other takers?

You might want to GEO over and check out the 'parallelizer'
  or ROG and see Splitter-Blend
Splitter Blend works great, higher voltage operation ='d higher headroom for me,
Treadle makes a footpedal pan from one side to the other....just insert your favorite, or modded effects to the A and B channels.
Could be all you need to split is a buffer...I forget where I saw this, haven't tried it, I believe it may be as simple as a buffer going to both effect inputs...
