I threw together a couple clips (real raw, just to show the actual sound of the pedal, RDV style!!!! and I mean that in a great way Ricky). The Tone Dog turned out real cool, and the differences you'll hear are from the tone control only, I left the volume and gain knobs alone. Very cool how the blending of the two input caps affects the character of the fuzz!! The Tarpit I absolutely love. The clip I did was of just the Tarpit Fuzz only with no diodes switched in. My youngest decided he was going to make noise while I recorded so I just had to stop before I lost my mind. I'll record those in the morning and get them posted ASAP. Both clips are clean amp, gain from the pedals only. Tarpit has guitar knob turned down, then maxed. After I heard it, I had to play the ZZTop thing. Truly though, listen to the master here: http://www.ampage.org/cgi-bin/sounds/index.cgi
Joe's an amazing player. In fact, I'm working on some cover tunes now for a party (Satriani, Hoey, Johnson and Lynch stuff) and then I listen to the honest, emotion packed playing of Joe on his Bronto and Dinosaur clips............ seriously, just makes me hang my head. But it has inspired me to get started on finishing up my Tele-Gib. Anyway, here are the clips, more to come!!!!!!!!

OK, my youngest is at school so I could make a couple more clips without toy's banging around or video game noises creeping into the mix. I recorded two more clips with the Tarpit Meltdown. The first one that is titled "each diode added" is switching in the diodes one at a time, then adjusting the "hot" or "melt" control, depending on the diodes that were switched in. Also, I used 1n914's, but I will use 1n4002's w/sockets (like the ToneDog uses) for the next time I build this. The next clip, "both diode stages" is both combined and somewhat dialed in. It sounds pretty good to me. Really a cool pedal and great design. Playing is sloppy as I just wanted to get the clips up and demonstrate the actual sounds of the pedals. Here is the link:
